Washing Numnahs
One FnE wool numnah is sufficient for completing a one day 80 km (50 mile) ride in endurance riding, or, typically 6 to 7 hours. Washing after the ride is essential. Under typical hacking activities a once a week wash should be sufficient.
All the wool numnahs can be washed at 40° or in a standard wool wash. Tumble drying will fluff up the fibres more than line drying.
One FnE Airflow numnah will see you through a one or two day 160 km (100 mile) ride in endurance riding - and can be used again next day. The Airflow material does not absorb water, and the Cordura is waterproofed. Use a vacuumcleaner to get rid of any hairs that have got stuck in the numnah (particularly during coat shedding time).
You can wash the Airflow numnah in the same way as the wool numnah and dry it off in the air or in a tumble dryer.
